The city of Zyrn

The enigmatic harbour city

Welcome to Zyrn, a city where pasts are forgotten, secrets are currency, and power belongs to those who listen rather than speak. Perched on the border between Elfsrelda and Kyrinia, this city is more than just a trade hub—it is a place where identities shift, and whispers hold more weight than gold.

“For those seeking knowledge, Zyrn might offer answers. But be sure to ask the right questions, or you may not live to hear the reply.”

A glimpse into Zyrn’s atmosphere

The salty breeze of the Eastern Sea clings to the air as voices rise from the bustling market square. A city of commerce and cunning, Zyrn never truly sleeps. Its harbor welcomes all—merchants, mercenaries, exiles, and fugitives alike—though its streets hold little mercy for the unprepared.

Because of its strategic coastal location, Zyrn is valuable to both Kyrinia and Elfsrelda—as is its neutral position. It is also the only place where one can board a ship to Ykrion, an island shrouded in secrecy. Only the Seafarers know how to reach the island alive, navigating treacherous tides to find its hidden entrance.

The old library of Zyrn

Few places in the lands command as much quiet respect as Zyrn’s Grand Library. Though open to scholars and the curious, true secrets are hidden behind locked doors.

Deep within its walls lies a small, unmarked chamber, accessible only through a nondescript door in the western wing. Known as the Little Room, it is said to contain documents so dangerous that their very existence is denied.

The Order of Lumo stands as both its guardian and gatekeeper. Some visit seeking wisdom. Others come looking for forgotten truths—or forbidden knowledge.

A city of contrasts

Life in Zyrn is a delicate balance between profit and peril. In its winding streets, loyalty is a commodity, and the line between friend and foe is drawn in shifting sand. In Zyrn, power isn’t measured in wealth—it is found in knowing what string to pull and when to let go.

  • The grand library – In a city like Zyrn, the library is considered the only true thing of beauty. Safeguarded by the Order of Lumo, knowledge is gathered and protected here like a curator guards artifacts—not everything is meant to be seen.
  • The House of Joy – A place of pleasure and intrigue, ruled by the elusive M’dam Marusha. Here, whispered secrets shape the fates of lords and outlaws alike.
  • The harbor quarter – A den of cutthroats and spies, where business is conducted in back rooms, and betrayal is just another form of trade.

Some see Zyrn as a symbol of resilience and independence. Others view it as a lawless pit of corruption. But one thing is certain: Zyrn remembers.

Zyrn’s role in the Magia Trilogy

Zyrn is a city of shifting allegiances – While Jhon and Syribil seek information about the Transiga Juvelo, Ri’shana moves with an entirely different purpose. In Zyrn, it is all about asking the right people…

Zyrn plays a crucial role in the pursuit of knowledge – The library holds truths that could change everything. But not all truths are meant to be revealed…

Zyrn is a gateway to Ykrion – The only passage to the Seafarers’ island lies in Zyrn’s harbor. But Seafarers don’t just invite landlubbers in. Ri’shana has a history with Corcan, the Seafarer leader—will this past prove useful, or just the opposite?

More tales await...

Zyrn is just one part of the vast world of Magia—a realm where humans and Nhir have left their mark, Woodlanders weave their bonds with nature, and Seafarers heed only the call of the tides. Wolflings roam the wilds, Telepathics whisper across minds, and the clans of Mrisir remain bound by traditions so unyielding that even the thought of breaking them would bring unbearable shame. Yet, in the end, it is the courage and commitment of a few that will decide the fate of the world…
