As always, my alarm went off at 6:15 this morning.

I didn’t even get the chance to get up. The moment I woke up, my brain had already disappeared down a rabbit hole:

the universe → black holes → gravity → Newton → Einstein → quantum physics → quantum entanglement → … straight back into my own universe of Whispers and Legacy, where a new piece of the puzzle slid into place.

All before breakfast.

Yes. It’s done.

The first draft is finished.
The story is there. The arc is complete. The plot is in place. The pieces have come together — and beneath it all, what comes next is already stirring.

The first book of the second trilogy is alive — rough, messy, and exactly where a first draft should be.

Now comes the revision.

I write dark fantasy.

I create worlds where power spirals out of control. Where freedom disappears. Where brutality, courage and sacrifice tear worlds apart.

And then I read about Afghanistan.

About young girls who are no longer allowed to go to school. With no chance to learn, think for themselves, or shape their own future.

About little girls forced into marriage before they`ve even had the chance to discover who they are.

About women banned from public life. No longer free to study, work or take part in society. Whose world is confined to the walls of their own home.

About a reality that, from my corner of Europe, feels like something straight out of dark fiction.

The frightening part is that if something goes on long enough, it becomes normal.

We get used to it.

Maybe it makes the headlines one more time. Maybe it shows up in your feed one more time. And then it disappears between recipes, holiday photos and cat videos.

As a writer, I find myself wondering where darkness truly begins.

Is it the day someone introduces an inhumane law?

Is it the moment we say: "That`s simply how things are."

Or is it when the rest of the world is just too busy to care?

I can`t get these girls out of my head. …

Still waiting for the garden gnomes to fix the garden while I’m writing.

They remain suspiciously absent. …

These mountains were here long before the first words of the Magia Trilogy ever existed.

And somehow, they still feel woven into every page.
